17th AGM of JBCCI on Oct 10, 2022

The 17th AGM of JBCCI was held on Oct 10, 2022, at Lakeshore Hotel. H.E. Mr. Naoki ITO, Hon’ble Ambassador was the Chief Guest. Mr. Asif A. Chowdhury, President of JBCCI delivered the welcoming speech. Mr. Machida Tatsuya, new Minister of EoJ attended the Program and JBCCI arranged the Reception ceremony in his honor. After the AGM session, the handing-over & taking-over ceremony of current Board Members to the new Board of Directors of JBCCI for Oct 2022-Sep 2024 took place. Mr. Hikari Kawai, General Manager of Marubeni Corporation has become the new President.

JBCCI arranged the Salutation program to honor the recipients of “The Order of the Rising Sun” from the Govt. of Japan for their contribution to enhancing bilateral relations between Japan and Bangladesh.

Later on, JBCCI honored H.E. Mr. Naoki ITO, Hon’ble Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh for receiving the “Bangabandhu Medal for Diplomatic Excellence” from the Govt. of Bangladesh for his outstanding service in strengthening bilateral relations and promoting mutual interests between Japan and Bangladesh. H.E. Mr. Naoki ITO stated in his speech that Bangladesh and Japan are celebrating 50 years of friendship this year and this bonding will grow more in the future. Bangladesh’s economy is growing every year. he is hopeful for around USD 10 billion of trade between Bangladesh and Japan in the near future. He appreciated JBCCI’s current Board members for their outstanding support to organize various events which have important impacts to promote bilateral trade relations.
